The Petition of the undersigned respectfully represents:-

I.

That your petitioner entered the service of the

Government of Hongkong in April 1889; and that he is

at present in the General Post Office drawing a salary

of $40 per month.

That your petitioner's father, Clement Fabien Demee

(deceased) was a native of France; that the said

Clément Fabien Demée came out to China as Commander

in the British mercantile navy; that he married Belmira

Pereira (also deceased); that the said Belmira Pereira

was a Portuguese lady born in the colony of Macao

belonging to Portugal; that your petitioner is their

legitimate son; that he is a French citizen; that he

was born in the British colony of Singapore in 1867;

and that he is married and has a son.
